Chris Evans on Returning as Captain America: “It’s Not a Hard No”
Chris Evans says he could return to the role of Captain America in the future, Variety reports. “It’s not a hard no, but it’s not an eager yes either,” Evans said while talking with Avengers co-star Scarlett Johansson for the outlet’s Actors on Actors issue. “If you’re gonna revisit it, it can’t be a cash grab. It can’t be just because audiences would be excited. There has to be, what are we revealing? What are we adding to the story?” Evans also talked about what happened to his character at the end of Avengers: Endgame, when he handed his shield to sidekick the Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, setting him up as the next Captain America. “It was a nice way to kind of have, just between us, the transition of characters. It was great,” Evans said. As for Johansson, she’s definitely reprising her role as Black Widow; she’ll be starring in an upcoming solo film which takes place in the past.
