JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS REACHES OUT TO VOTERS VIA PSA: Julia Louis-Dreyfus has partnered with Federal PAC Local Majority on a PSA (directed by her husband Brad Hall) calling for Americans to vote and volunteer. "A corrupt, self-obsessed, inept moron who somehow becomes president of the United States? That’s the character that I play on HBO’s Veep," she says in the PSA. "But when I’m off of TV, I’m not a politician, I’m not an expert, I’m a citizen. And I know that the midterm election on Nov. 6 is beyond important. It is vital." As others list reasons to get involved, Louis-Dreyfus mentions hers: affordable health care. The cancer survivor says: "I’m a cancer survivor, and I am really lucky because I had access to excellent health insurance, even with a preexisting condition. That’s the way it should be for absolutely everybody, and it’s not. The Republican Congress is making it worse, but the Democrats can change that."
SUSAN LUCCI MODELS SWIMSUIT IN UNRETOUCHED PHOTOS: The 71-year-old Susan Lucci proved that age is just a number in an untouched photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar in October. Yes, she is wearing a bathing suit. "I feel as good now as I ever did in my 20s and 30s, maybe even better physically," Lucci, who has been doing Pilates for over two decades, tells the publication. "What I've learned is that if you train hard, you can offset some of what you've got going against you. People look at me and say 'Wow, she doesn't seem old, but she is old.' Meanwhile, the reality is if you're strong, you're beautiful, no matter what age you are." She admits that her admirable physique requires sacrifice (no burgers, fries, snacks, dessert, bread, pasta).
KRISTEN BELL VAPES WEED AROUND DAX SHEPARD: Kristen Bell likes the occasional puff and her (sober) husband Dax Shepard is cool with it. On Marc Maron’s WTF With Marc Maron podcast, she explained: "I smoke around my husband and it doesn't seem to bother him. Weed rules." Still, she sets boundaries. "Once a week, if I am exhausted and we are about to sit down and watch 60 Minutes, why not?" Shepard recently celebrated his 14thyear of sobriety, and she marvels at his ability to look beyond her occasional drug use. Sometimes, she says he even pushes her to explore new highs, telling her: "you shouldn't leave earth without having tried mushrooms or ecstasy."
