The Academy cleared him of wrongdoing in March. Bailey has served as cinematographer on In the Line of Fire, The Big Chill, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Under his tenure, the Academy has grappled with the #MeToo movement and the call for greater diversity. It ousted Harvey Weinstein, Roman Polanski and Bill Cosby, and invited 928 new members to join in 2018. The committee also announced that it would shorten the notoriously long Oscarcast, which many have observed are far too lengthy. Some awards, the Academy said, would no longer be handed out live. The next Oscars are set for Sunday, February 24th, 2019. Will you tune in?

Jennifer Garner’s kayaking trip in Sweden took a scary turn when she and 12-year-old Violet Affleck had to be rescued.

"On a pre-middle-school sneak away with my eldest … Did I get us lost in a kayak? Yes. Did we paddle as hard as we could for 100 hours and end up in a shipping lane? I’m afraid so. Did we have to be rescued? Yup," Garner, 46, wrote on Instagram Monday, adding hashtags "#thesunsetwasabigupside #shenevercomplained #thankyoumattias #welovedyousweden."

Luckily, Mattias Persson of Langholmen Kayaks, where she rented her boat, came to help (after snapping a shot of the stranded pair).

"She was lost on the waters of Stockholm with her daughter in one of our double kayaks. Mattias got into a kayak of his own and started searching for them," Långholmen Kayaks wrote on their own Instagram account, with a shot of Garner and Persson. "Fortunately he found them not too far away and was able to guide them back to our rental. Quite an adventure!"

The Bachelorette Becca Kufrin finally stepped out with winner Garrett Yrigoyen, but the situation was anything but clear-cut and controversy free. Kufrin, who arrived to the ABC reality staple with her share of baggage (she was famously dumped on national television by fiancé Arie Luyendyk Jr.), and from the get-go, she couldn’t leave it at the door.

In the episode that aired Monday, Kufrin, 28, selected Yrigoyen, 29, over fellow finalist Blake Horstmann after a season fraught with controversy over Yrigoyen’s behavior on social media.

He "liked" racist and homophobic posts on Instagram, then used the platform in May to apologize for "a mindless double tap on Instagram" after he deleted his old account.

"I am sorry to those who I offended, and I also take full responsibility for my 'likes' on Instagram that were hurtful and offensive," he wrote. "garret_yrigs12 was my former Instagram handle and I decided to take it down and start fresh because I have learned an extremely valuable lesson and am taking steps to grow, become more educated, and be a better version of myself. I am not perfect, and I will never be anywhere close, but now I will always be more informed and aware of what I am liking and supporting, not just on Instagram, but in life."

The pair discussed the controversy with host Chris Harrison following his proposal to her.

"The Instagram situation, I don't condone that and I know that he stands by his apology and he feels so bad for everyone that he did offend," she said. "He didn't mean it. But I just want to move forward, to learn and to grow and continue to educate ourselves."

Social media was not here for it. One user summarized their approach to viewing the finale: "Me preparing to watch the #BacheloretteFinale knowing good and well Becca is probably about to pick Garrett and I'm going to be mad."

As many pointed out, Yrigoyen "liked" posts that "mocked immigrant CHILDREN & liberal women," and the conspiracy theory that a Parkland survivor David Hogg is a "crisis actor."

Kufrin, meanwhile, previously supported Hillary Clinton and the Women’s March.

Meanwhile, jewelry designer Neil Lane says he was moved to create a special ring for Kufrin.

"I wanted to make a ring that was totally different than anything I had done for the show before," Lane tells PEOPLE. "I wanted to create something very special for Becca, especially considering everything that happened with Arie."

Breaking with Bachelor tradition, the ring is 18-carat gold and features almost 4 carats worth of diamonds.

"I wanted it to be elegant, quite glamorous and I wanted to use gold," Lane explains. "It’s a whole different concept — it has three oval stones, which helps celebrate both of them as a couple and the third diamond represents their future together."

Angelina Jolie has filed a new court document claiming Brad Pitt isn’t contributing enough to help support their six children. In fact, Jolie claims Pitt hasn’t paid any "meaningful" child support at all during their ongoing year-and-a-half long split.

"Pitt has a duty to pay child support. As of present, Pitt has paid no meaningful child support since separation," wrote Jolie's attorney, Samantha Bley DeJean, in a two-page brief filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by NBC News.

"Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by Pitt for over a year and a half, Jolie intends to file an RFO Request for Court Order for the establishment of a retroactive child support order."

Nowhere in the filing was it made clear how Jolie defines "meaningful."

Under California law, each parent must provide financially for the children, but it is all to be based on agreement between the parents; it is unclear what agreement they’ve reached.

Deadpool 2 is being released on Blu-ray August 21st. "I always loved it, because it created the same debate in our edit room as it does in the streets of the world," Reynolds said of the extra 15 minutes added to the Blu-ray cut. "It was debated back and forth, and over and over again. We were all a little nervous about it, wondering, 'Is it too much?' None of us could come to a consensus on how to handle it, so our final decision was to just not handle it, to just not put it in the movie. We cut it out partially for time, but also to give us something really fun to add into the coda of the DVD."

MOVIEPASS SHARES RALLY AFTER LIMITS ABANDONED: MoviePass parent Helios & Matheson Analytics saw its stock rally after a dramatic two-week plunge. From now on, subscribers will be limited to three uses per month. "We have heard our MoviePass Community and we will not be raising prices to $14.95 a month," the company said in a press release. "The new plan is focused on usage by the bulk of our subscribers who have historically used MoviePass to attend three movies or fewer a month. Additionally, the new plan addresses past misuses which imposed undue costs on the system, including ticket scalping, unauthorized card usage and other activities, which in the past necessitated the use of certain remedial measures that have sometimes been inconvenient for our subscribers."

More than 80 women have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, including rape, but one of the accusers' emails is not being used by his legal team in an attempt to have criminal charges against him dismissed.

Attorneys for the disgraced movie producer filed a motion for dismissal in New York federal court Friday, citing evidence they say the grand jury that indicted him never had access to.

Lawyers say the dozens of email sent from one of accusers are "warm, complimentary and solicitous messages" sent "immediately following" the alleged rape "and over the next four year period."

"These communications irrefutably reflect the true nature of this consensual intimate friendship, which never at any time included a forcible rape," Weinstein's attorney, Ben Brafman told CNN in a statement.

One note, sent on January 5, 2014, ten months after the alleged rape occurred, the unnamed accuser wrote: "Your (sic) the one who makes it look good with your smile and beautiful eyes!! But thank you that makes me so happy to hear."

In another sent July 10, 2014, she wrote: "There is no one else I would enjoy catching up with that understands me quite like you. I don't get off work usually till after 7 and coming from (redacted). I know I will be hungry, what is your timing? Do you have time for dinner?"

It is unclear whether there will be a hearing scheduled on the new motion. He is next due in court on September 20th.

Oprah Winfrey dished about her favorite date night activities with Stedman Graham, and while they’re sexy, they’re also refreshingly … ordinary.

During an "Ask a Staffer" Q&A on The Oprah Magazine’s Instagram account, the media mogul fielded a lot of fun questions, from her dream destination (Antartica) to whether she’s hitting up Beyonce and Jay Z’s On the Run II tour ("Yes, honey!")

When asked how she keeps it hot with Graham, whom she’s been with for three decades, she said: "Well, I am a really good cook and the wonderful thing about Stedman is in all the years that I've been cooking for him, no matter what it is—even if it's a piece of toast like the other day I made an English muffin and he's like, 'Where did you get this English muffin?' and I'm like, 'It's an English muffin.'"

"He is delighted with anything that I make, so my favorite date night is to make him black-eyed peas and cornbread as a surprise for dinner and then honey, hush," she continued. "That's all you need!"

In other words, "Perfect date night: me cooking and then it's on."

Meghan Markle has not had an easy go of it. The newly minted Duchess has been in the spotlight for months now, especially leading up to and since her May 19th nuptials to Prince Harry and her 74-year-old father’s catastrophically revealing chats with the press (many of which he was allegedly paid for).

Now, it seems Meghan is being shielded from the media by the royal family in a desperate attempt to do damage control. Royal correspondent Richard Palmer claimed on Twitter that he and others are being kept away so they "can’t hear what she is saying. If you can’t get direct quotes from members of the Royal Family that often makes for dull stories. You go afterwards and ask what she said. Mr. Bloggs said: ‘The Duchess expressed the hope that women would eventually get the same opportunities as men in this profession.’ Boring."

A source described as a "good friend" says her relationship with her father Thomas is over, thanks to his increasingly embarrassing rants in the press about how the royal family is keeping her from him.

A source tells The Daily Mail: "A reconciliation is completely off the table at the moment. There's no chance right now—he's been a complete embarrassment."

"The Royal Family isn't as upset as you'd think," the friend continued. "Nothing any of them the Markle family say has any real consequence and they Meghan and Harry have more important things to focus on."

Accused sexual assaulter Harvey Weinstein claims he has 40 emails that that prove he didn't rape one of his more than 80 accusers, and he wants the criminal case against him dismissed. Last month, he was indicted on a criminal sexual assault charge that could land him, if convicted, in prison for life.

TMZ reports that Weinstein’s lawyers have filed docs claiming the accuser’s emails show hat they were consensual partners. Weinstein reportedly used a Weinstein Company email address during these exchanges. While his attorneys were able to access the records, a bankruptcy judge issued an order preventing him from disseminating them.

Weinstein’s legal team, headed by Benjamin Brafman, is now attempting to use the emails as an exhibit in a motion to dismiss the criminal indictment, claiming the Manhattan District Attorney was aware of the so-called evidence, but never provided them to the grand jury that indicted him on felony sexual assault charges. The emails reportedly only pertain to this particular indictment. A separate indictment against Weinstein involved two other women who claim he assaulted them. Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has said since allegations broke in October of last year that he never engaged in nonconsensual sex. The team is expected to make the first bid to dismiss the criminal case in court today (Friday).

He is free on $1 million bail. Weinstein is being investigated by federal prosecutors, the Manhattan D.A., the NYPD, the LAPD, police in Beverly Hills and U.K. police.

Disenchantment is Groening’s first new series since Futurama dropped 20 years ago, and he says he’s psyched to be moving to the streaming service. "Netflix couldn't have been more supportive. They basically said 'yes' after a very quick pitch and have been completely supportive thereon — and that is unusual in the history of TV. There is usually a lot more worry and second-guessing as time goes on." He notes that Futurama never got love from Fox: "They so much didn't like it, they scheduled the show for 7 p.m. on Sunday nights and
then made the slogan of the network: 'The fun begins at 8 p.m.' So, I wasn't able to just read between the lines, I was able to read the line."

Kim Kardashian is back in social media’s bad graces as fans call her clap back to Tyson Beckford’s comment on her appearance "homophobic."

"Sorry I don’t care for it," Beckford commented under the post. The model and actor continued with a second, harsher diss, this time drawing attention to her famous assets: "She is not real, doctor f----d up on her right hip." He capped it off with a green vomiting emoji.

Social media users pounced, accusing her of homophobia. "I hope y'all get kim kardashian together for that homophobic response to Tyson Beckford," one Twitter user said.

Consider yourselves warned!

Meanwhile, over the weekend, Lohan may have drummed up some unwanted attention when she posted a widely mocked (since deleted) shot of herself and POTUS daughter Tiffany Trump hanging in one of her clubs. She also threatened to fire a server on Instagram when she failed to wear the right shoes with her uniform.

"There is an attorney, Laura Coates," he said. "She’s African-American and she appears on some of the cable news shows from time to time."

Coates heard about the story and took to Twitter immediately to (understandably) humble-brag: "Incredibly honored & humbled @Jeopardy Alex Trebek 1) knows who I am 2) thinks I’d be a great host of my fave game show ever that I grew up watching w/ my family & still watch w/ my own kids (who saw him say this & now think I’m a genius) #Dying."
