MICHELLE WOLF SPEAKS ON SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS: The Emmy-nominated comedian Michelle Wolf is not quitting the fight she picked with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. (At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, her remarks about Sanders inspired walkouts and a presidential clapback on Twitter). She tells The Hollywood Reporter that Sanders should probably skip her stand-up special on HBO, Nice Lady. "I don't want Sarah Huckabee Sanders to get the idea that she can burn down a place. I feel like she'd be like Aunt Lydia from The Handmaid's Tale on steroids. Where she was like, 'You're right, I should speak up more!' I'm like, 'No, you speak up enough.'" Wolf continued, "I would want Michelle Obama to watch it just because I like her and I feel like we've probably stressed her out over the past eight years and maybe she could just use a laugh." The special is up for an Emmy. She added that she wants women to break out of the box the entertainment industry has put them in. "I really hate the idea that women were in, like, these pretty little boxes, where it's like, 'You can't say that, you're a lady.' I'm like, 'No, screw you!'" Wolf said.

JOHN GOODMAN DEFENDS ROSEANNE BARR, HINTS AT FATE OF CHARACTER

John Goodman is opening up about his co-star Roseanne Barr, and the cancelation of their hit ABC show. Barr was fired and Roseanne was tabled after she fired off a series of racist tweets, including one in which she compared former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape.

The 66-year-old Goodman tells The Sunday Times that he was devastated when Roseanne was cancelled.

"I was brokenhearted, but I thought, ‘OK, it’s just show business, I’m going to let it go,'" he recalls. "But I went through a period, about a month, where I was very depressed. I’m a depressive anyway, so any excuse that I can get to lower myself, I will. But that had a great deal to do with it, more than I wanted to admit."

He also went to bat for Barr, saying he knows "for a fact that she’s not a racist." Goodman adds that she gave up her rights so a spinoff of the show, The Conners, could proceed without her.

"She had to sign a paper saying that she relinquished all her rights to the show so that we could go on," he adds. "I sent her an email and thanked her for that. I did not hear anything back, but she was going through hell at the time. And she’s still going through hell."

FATE OF ROSEANNE

So what will happen to Barr’s character? ABC has remained mum, but Goodman has an idea.

He tells the Times of what he pictures his character doing in the show: "It’s an unknown. I guess he’ll be mopey and sad because his wife’s dead."

ANNA KENDRICK SPILLS ON HER KISS WITH BLAKE LIVELY

Anna Kendrick is opening up about her sexuality. In an interview with Pride Source, Kendrick cops to girl crushes, and discusses what it was like to kiss Blake Lively for Simple Favor.

"I mean, all I’m ever thinking about in kissing scenes is, who has gum? Who has a mint? And I think Blake is probably the same because I’ve never experienced a guy, like, searching for a mint and searching for gum," she said. "So, we were the mintiest, freshest two people to have ever kiss in the history of America."

But IRL, she says she hasn’t yet "had that emotional love for a lady, which isn’t saying it could never happen to me," the 33-year-old said.

Kendrick reflected on the first woman she kissed: "it wasn't just like, we're at a party and boys are watching! That horrible performance silliness."

ASIA ARGENTO IS DROPPED AS JUDGE OF ‘X FACTOR,’ BY ROSE MCGOWAN

Asia Argento has been axed from X Factor Italy after facing sexual assault allegations earlier this month, according to multiple reports. Her friend Rose McGowan also issued a blistering statement calling for her to the person "you wish Harvey could have been."

The Italian actress became one of the most vocal advocates in the #MeToo Movement, and was one of the first to allege that Harvey Weinstein assaulted her. Since she spoke out, more than 80 women have leveled claims of misconduct, including rape, against the Oscar-winning producer.

When claims that the 42-year-old assaulted former child actor Jimmy Bennett surfaced in the New York Times, she strongly denied the allegations made in the report. Bennett accused her of assaulting him when he was 17, and she was 37; Argento claims she paid him $380K after her late boyfriend Anthony Bourdain encouraged her to.

Argento was fired from X Factor over the weekend. A new judge will be announced September 5th.

DENOUNCED

Her fellow Weinstein accuser, #MeToo warrior and friend McGowan distanced herself from Argento on Monday. She released a lengthy statement, saying that Argento admitted to sleeping with Bennett to her partner, Rain Dove. She says that Argento claimed an unnamed person (whom she now assumes was Bennett) was extorting her.

"Its sad to lose a friend connection, but whats sic even more sad is what happened to Jimmy Bennet," she says. "Whether or not the extortion case is true- it wasn’t fair and it wasn’t right. It is the type of thing I fight against alongside so many."

She calls on her to be the person she wishes Weinstein could be.

"Asia you were my friend. I loved you. You’ve spent and risked a lot to stand with the MeToo movement. I really hope you find your way through this process to rehabilitation and betterment," McGowan says. "Anyone can be be better- I hope you can be, too. Do the right thing. Be honest. Be fair. Let justice stay its course. Be the person you wish Harvey could have been."

SUPPORT

But British star Lysette Anthony is defending her. "I cannot stand by while Asia Argento is hurled under a bus," Anthony said in an interview with The Sunday Times.

"She has been extraordinarily courageous standing up to Weinstein. And now she's being punished."

"She's being vilified and abused," she said.

MISS AMERICA DISCUSSES GOING PUBLIC WITH GRETCHEN CARLSON BULLYING ALLEGATIONS

Miss America Cara Mund appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America Thursday to discuss the bombshell bullying charges she leveled against chairwoman Gretchen Carlson and the rest of the board.

Mund wrote a letter to fellow past winners claiming Carlson and others had silenced and bullied her. She said she’d reached out to leadership before she put pen to paper, but had been dismissed.

"I wrote this letter to my sisters," Mund explained. "I knew I had to stand up, not just for me but for all the volunteers and girls."

The 24-year-old and several other former Miss America titleholders are now calling for her resignation. Carlson, who took over as chairwoman after much of the leadership was ousted amid charges of fat-and-slut-shaming former contestant, rejected Mund’s claims.

"I have never bullied or silenced you," Carlson wrote. "We've acknowledged your grievances and taken many steps to try to make your experience a good one." Contestant organizers also told ABC News, "We have supported Cara for her entire year and we will continue to support her."

"I didn't get reached out to till midnight the day after the letter went public," Mund said Thursday on GMA. She added that she couldn't take a call at midnight because, "I had an event the next day and I was sleeping."

She added that it's "possible" Carlson would fire her for coming forward.

ALYSSA MILANO DEFENDS #METOO AMID ASIA ARGENTO SCANDAL

Alyssa Milano defended the #MeToo Movement after one of its leading voices, Asia Argento, was accused of sexual assault.

The 45-year-old opened up in a sit-down with ABC’s Good Morning America. "People that have been abused can also be abusers, and that's a sad fact," she said.

But Milano said #MeToo will survive. "I don't have any fears about the #MeToo movement," she said. "They can call this movement whatever they want. To me, what that only does it enables us to identify issues, the problems and then discuss them, get them out in the open."

If anything, she said she sees the movement "swelling" and getting "stronger."

ACCUSATIONS AGAINST ARGENTO

Argento was one of the first to accuse the disgraced Oscar-winning producer Harvey Weinstein of misconduct, including rape.

But earlier this week, The New York Times issued a blistering report claiming that Argento paid off Jimmy Bennett with $380,000 after he accused her of assault. (She denied the allegations and said they never had sex, but reports including alleged texts she sent and a shirtless selfie taken in bed seemed to contradict her story).

Bennett spoke out for the first time Wednesday.

"I have not made a public statement in the past days and hours because I was ashamed and afraid to be part of the public narrative," part of his statement read. "I was underage when the event took place, and I tried to seek justice in a way that made sense to me at the time because I was not ready to deal with the ramifications of my story becoming public. At the time I believed there was still a stigma to being in the situation as a male in our society."

TWITTER DRAGS BEN AFFLECK FOR THIRD STINT IN REHAB

Ben Affleck has checked into rehab for the third time after his estranged wife Jennifer Garner staged an intervention, according to multiple reports. Garner left the 46-year-old’s home in Pacific Palisades shaken and upset on Wednesday, before returning with an unidentified woman.

According to People, Garner was not happy that she had to stage an intervention, especially such a public one, but sources tell the magazine that she felt it was a "crisis" situation.

After staging the initial intervention, Garner drove the three of them to a rehab facility; on the way, photographers captured photos of Affleck that showed an upset, tearful man who is clearly struggling. They stopped for take-out from Jack in the Box on the way.

DOWNWARD SPIRAL?

All of this comes after a week of drama, including his reported split from Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus and then his appearance with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton on various dates. On Monday, he was photographed accepting a delivery of alcohol. (Seeing this picture reportedly prompted Garner to act).

Perhaps predictably, Twitter has not been kind. One user tweeted, "Poor Jennifer Garner, still having to take care of BenAffleckeven though they are divorced. Women as giving tree rather than humans who get to carry on with their own lives," while another wrote: "I'd love to be Ben Affleck... 3rd stint in rehab, being driven there by a lovely ex-wife, after having partied all week with a 22yr old Playboy model, after having just broken up with a beautiful TV producer. Where was that job advertised?"

According to The Blast, the Malibu retreat he checked into focuses on substance abuse and mental health addiction. Programs include beach trips, horse-assisted therapy and meditation.

FUTURE OF BATMAN

Others wonder where this leaves the Batman franchise. His starring role has been called into question recently as director Matt Reeves is reportedly eager to explore stories about a younger version of the character.

He has played Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League. The latter tanked when it opened in November, prompting widespread speculation about Affleck’s future as the caped crusader at that point.

Reeves is reportedly still working out the details of his current script for The Batman.

IDRIS ELBA SHUTS DOWN ‘JAMES BOND’ RUMORS

Not happening. Despite fans’ most earnest wishes to the contrary, Idris Elba will not be taking on the role of James Bond. While attending the premiere of his new film Yardie, he was repeatedly asked if he’d succeed Daniel Craig as 007.

He couldn’t have been clearer, repeatedly saying "no" and then leaving the conversation. Today also aired footage from a sit-down in which he was pressed, and Elba firmly denied it.

"I don't want to talk it about, honestly," he said during one interview. "Let's leave it."

Much of the hoopla surrounding the possibility involves the fact that Elba is black. Elba himself addressed the issue, saying if he ever earned the role, he wouldn’t want race to be the focus. "Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond," he previously told NPR. "So if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond."

Rumors of his future as Bond have been spreading for years, and were probably sparked in 2014 when he was asked during a Reddit AMA if he’d take the job if offered. Back then, he said "absolutely."

Craig will reprise the role in Bond 25, which is set to hit theaters in 2019. The director attached to the project, Danny Boyle, departed this week over "creative differences."

GEORGE CLOONEY TOPS FORBES’ LIST OF HIGHEST-PAID ACTORS

Buoyed by the sale of Casamigos Tequila, George Clooney topped Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors in 2017. Between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018, Clooney made $239 million, more money than any other actor has ever, Forbes found.

But don’t cry for everyone else in Hollywood. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson came in at No. 2, with an estimated $124 million pre-taxes. Much of that is thanks to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Robert Downey Jr. rounded out the top 3 with $81 million.

All told, the top 10 made $748.5 million between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018, before fees and taxes. The top-earning female stars earned $186 million in the same period, or just one quarter of their male cohorts' paydays.

MIRA SORVINO SAYS SHE IS HEARTSICK OVER ASIA ARGENTO AS ALLEGED VICTIM SPEAKS OUT

Mira Sorvino is speaking out on accusations leveled against her friend and fellow #MeToo warrior. Asia Argento has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor in 2013 and then paying him off with $380,000, allegations that first surfaced in a blistering New York Times report.

Sorvino and Argento were among the more than 80 women who spoke out against Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct, including rape, last year. Their courage in coming forward then created an entire social movement, dubbed #MeToo, and led to dozens of other revelations about an alleged culture of assault in Hollywood.

Now Sorvino is responding to news that Argento may have been a perpetrator herself.

"I have been heartsick over the recent allegations against Asia Argento. Time will clarify things and perhaps she will be exonerated, but if true, there is no lens that makes it better," Sorvino wrote in a statement posted early Wednesday morning. "Child sexual assault is a heinous crime and is against all that I and the #MeToo movement stands for."

TEXTS LEAKED

Argento formally denied that the assault occurred, saying she never had sex with Jimmy Bennett when he was a minor, or since. (He was 17 and she was 37 when the alleged attack occurred). Argento also insisted that her late boyfriend Anthony Bourdain insisted on the payout.

But texts leaked to TMZ appear to tell a different story. In a message that TMZ claims is from Argento to an unnamed friend, she admits to having sex with Bennett, but says she didn’t realize he was underage.

The text read: "I had sex with him and it felt weird. I didn’t know he was a minor until the shakedown letter. The public knows nothing, only what The New York Times wrote. Which is one-sided. The shakedown letter. The horny kid jumped me."

The website also published a selfie of them shirtless in bed.

Of the picture, the alleged text reads: "You can see my tits. That’s all. It doesn’t mean s--t. He is standing up."

ALLEGED VICTIM SPEAKS OUT

Bennett issued a statement via his attorney, Gordon K. Sattro on Wednesday.

"I did not initially speak out about my story because I chose to handle it in private with the person who wronged me. My trauma resurfaced as she came out as a victim herself," Bennett's statement read in part. "I was underage when the event took place, and I tried to seek justice in a way that made sense to me at the time because I was not ready to deal with the ramifications of my story becoming public. At the time I believed there was still a stigma to being in the situation as a male in our society."

He confirmed that, despite Argento’s denials to the contrary, they did have sex when he was a minor.

"I have had to overcome many adversities in my life, and this is another that I will deal with, in time. I would like to move past this event in my life, and today I choose to move forward, no longer in silence."

FORMER MISS AMERICAS CALL FOR GRETCHEN CARLSON TO STEP DOWN: Gretchen Carlson is hitting back at allegations that she bullied current Miss America Cara Mund, but other former titleholders aren’t hearing it. In a letter last week, Mund alleged that Carlson (a former Miss America herself) and CEO Regina Hopper took over the organization after the previous leaders were ousted for slut-and-fat-shaming contestants, and managed to make a bad situation worse. Mund wrote they "systematically silenced me, reduced me, marginalized me, and essentially erased me in my role as Miss America in subtle and not-so-subtle ways on a daily basis." After Carlson rejected her claims, former Miss America Suzette Charles told NBC’s Megyn Kelly: "She's the chairman and there's a CEO. They're required as businesspeople to raise money for the organization for the scholarship to have money to run the program and she's now putting that responsibility on our current Miss America?" "As I learned more information about hormone replacement therapy, I knew that this was what I had to do. I looked over at my mother in the middle of the show and said, 'This is me. I'm transgender. And I need to go through this.' My mother, who is immensely supportive and gracious, said, 'OK, let's do it.' CHRIS HEMSWORTH VOWS TO KEEP KIDS’ LIVES PRIVATE

Marvel leading light Chris Hemsworth graces the September cover of GQ, and inside, he talked about his commitment to family and privacy, especially in an era of constant overshare on social media.

He explained that all photos he shares of his wife Elsa Pataky and their three kids, 6-year-old daughter, India Rose, and 4-year-old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, are purely for fun, despite several lucrative offers from advertising companies.

"The exploitation is something I'm very wary of. We've been offered things like, 'Advertise such-and-such and have dinner with your family," the 35-year-old actor said. "There's no way."

Still, we live in an era of social media, so he isn’t avoiding it completely, he said. "The social media side of it is just trying to work out: How do you keep up with the times?' You see that Sylvester Stallone has an Instagram account, and you kind of go, 'This is the world we're in.'"

Hemsworth said he’s happy with the balance he’s found between work and home life. "I really do feel a sense of ease for the first time in years. I don’t mean that as an assessment of my achievements. I just mean I’m content with what’s going on and relaxed and open about it," Hemsworth shared.

Hemworth can next be seen in Bad Times at the El Royale on October 12th.
