Jennifer Garner is reflecting on her life in the spotlight. The Golden Globe winner shares three kids with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, and as she explains in the WSJ Magazine’s March Women’s Style Issue, the unwanted media attention really spiraled out of control once they got married.

In a column for the magazine, Garner writes: "How do you adapt your career to your life? That's a big question. Becoming someone who is well known requires an enormous adaptation. Who am I now? How do I go through the world? Then there's having children and, in my case, a career that's a very selfish one. The combination of those things is the largest adaptation of all."

"Something Ben and I used to say to each other all the time is, 'We have to adapt.' We were surrounded by paparazzi. There were so many things you wouldn't expect," Garner writes. "We'd be left alone more at Disneyland than we would at a park
in Santa Monica. But if you love something, you'll do whatever you need to do."

Garner and Affleck announced their separation in June of 2015 and finalized their divorce in late 2018; they share share kids Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, Samuel, 6.

Bradley Cooper admits that he’s pretty embarrassed about getting passed over for a Best Director nomination for his directorial debut, A Star Is Born.

Beloved by critics and audiences alike, many were shocked when his name didn’t appear in the final nominations. But he wasn’t.

Cooper told Oprah Winfrey for her upcoming SuperSoul Conversations TV special: "I was not surprised, I’m never surprised about not getting nominated. The first thing I felt was embarrassment, actually. I felt embarrassed that I didn’t do my part…Like, ‘Oh gosh, I didn’t do my job.'"

Still, the film did get eight Oscar nominations, including Best Actor (Cooper), Best Actress (Lady Gaga) and Best Supporting Actor (Sam Elliott).

Cooper also spoke of his father Charles’ death in 2011 after a battle with lung cancer, and the impact it had on him.

"It was everything. It was the biggest gift he gave me. The second biggest gift — having me, bringing me into this life, and then him allowing me to be witness to his passing was equally as huge," Cooper said. "He was cradled in my arms and when he took his last breath, I honestly felt like it went into me and I’ve never seen anything the same since."

He added, "I stopped sweating stuff that I was sweating before that. It changed the way I was as an actor by like, the next day, and I just started to live my life in a different way. I’d seen someone die before, but losing my father that way, it changed everything."

Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations From Times Square will air on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on OWN.

Ripples are still being felt from Liam Neeson’s shocking revelation to Britain’s The Independent that he once sought out a "random black man" to murder following a loved one’s rape.

Although the Oscar winner apologized for the incident that occurred 40+ years ago, many say the walk-back hasn’t been enough.

Tuesday night, shortly before the New York City premiere of the 66-year-old Neeson’s action film, Cold Pursuit, the scheduled red carpet was nixed.

Meanwhile, Wrinkle in Time director Ava DuVernay tweeted that Neeson’s racially charged admission proved the reality of white privilege. "When people ask me what white privilege is. Imagine if this was Will Smith," she captioned the post.

But it seems that Neeson’s remarks have been so shocking, it has prompted a call (on social media at least) for his scenes to be removed from the upcoming Men in Black film.

"Was really excited for Men in Black: International with @chrishemsworth & @TessaThompson_x. Was 1 of my most anticapated (sic) films for 2019. Hated his casting before the horrifying controversy, but now really hope it’s not too late to digitally erase racist f--- Liam Neeson from it," one user wrote.

"You can literally hear Liam Neeson evaporating from all the upcoming Men in Black International marketing," wrote another.

Whoopi Goldberg, who is a friend of the Taken star, defended him on The View: "People walk around sometimes with rage, that's what happens. Is he a bigot? No. I've known him a pretty long time, I think I would have recognized. I've been around a lot of real bigots. I can say this man is not one."

She added: "You can't be surprised that somebody whose loved one is attacked is angry and wants to go out and attack."

"What he did go on to say ... is that he realized that it was too dark for him, he went and got himself help."

Liam Neeson is defending himself after a shocking interview in which he admitted he once sought out a random black man to "kill" after a loved one was raped.

The 66-year-old sat down with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts to discuss the controversy on Tuesday. As Roberts was quick to point out, when the interview was released, many critics questioned whether he would have been as vengeful if his loved one’s attacker had been white.

"I’m not a racist," Neeson said, explaining that the incident happened "nearly 40 years ago" adding that he "definitely" would have sought out a white man with as much anger.

"I was trying to show honor, to stand up for my dear friend in this terrible medieval fashion," Neeson said. "I am a fairly intelligent guy. That’s why it kind of shocked me when I came down to earth after having these terrible feelings. Luckily no violence occurred. I did want to lash out because my friend was brutally raped and I was defending her honor. It was a learning curve."

Neeson also said he sought out help for his behavior. He said: "I did it for maybe four or five times until I caught myself on And it really shocke me, this primal urge I had. It shocked me and it hurt me. And I did seek help. I went to a priest and made my confession. I was reared a Catholic."

He added that "power walking" helped ease his anger.

Roberts pushed him on several points.

"This wasn’t discovered by somebody. You admitted this. I give you credit there. But also you have to acknowledge that the hurt of an innocent black man knowing that he could have been killed for something he did not do because of the color of his skin," Roberts said. "I know that you’re getting crucified in many ways for saying what you did — and you’re not shying away, you’re admitting that it was wrong — but you have to also understand the pain of a black person hearing what you said."

"All those things surprised me," Neeson said. "But it was this primal hatred, I guess, that really, really shocked me when I eventually came down to earth and I saw what I was doing. Going out and looking for a fight? Violence breeds violence, bigotry breeds bigotry."

He also blamed his childhood in Northern Ireland for his perception of violence’s purpose.

"I knew a couple of guys that died on hunger strike, and I had acquaintances who were very caught up in the Troubles, and I understand that need for revenge, but it just leads to more revenge, to more killing and more killing, and Northern Ireland’s proof of that," he said. "All this stuff that’s happening in the world, the violence, is proof of that. But that primal need, I understand."

Since The Atlantic published a searing new string of sexual misconduct allegations against Bohemian Rhapsody director Bryan Singer in January, many have been calling on its star Rami Malek to address the situation more fully.

Malek, who has been nominated for an Oscar for his starring role in the film, has previously said he was not aware of other allegations against Singer. And as Singer was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody in its last weeks of production (he does receive credit as director though), he has not appeared with Singer while collecting his Golden Globe and SAG trophies. Notably, he also didn’t mention Singer in his acceptance speeches.

At the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Malek told The Hollywood Reporter: "My heart goes out to anyone who has to live through anything like what I’ve heard and what is out there.

"It’s awful, it’s remarkable that this happens, I can appreciate so much what they’ve been through and how difficult this must be for them. In the light of the #MeToo era that this somehow seems to exist after that, it’s a horrible thing."

He also addressed his own issues with Singer as well. "I've sat here and talked about how everyone deserves a voice and anyone who wants to talk about what happened with Bryan deserves to have their voice heard," Malek said. "In my situation with Bryan, it was not pleasant, not at all. And that's about what I can say about it at this point."

He added, "For anyone who is seeking any solace in all of this, Bryan Singer was fired. Bryan Singer was fired, I don't think that was something anyone saw coming but I think that had to happen and it did."

Singer has denied all allegations of misconduct against him and has claimed he was wrongly fired. He still stands to make $40 million from the film.

Jussie Smollett broke his silence Friday after what is being described as a racist and homophobic attack in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

"Let me start by saying that I’m OK," Smollett told Essence. "My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words."

Regarding some skepticism about the nature of the attack, he said that he’d been "100 percent factual and consistent on every level" with authorities.

"Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe that justice will be served," he said.

"As my family stated, these types of cowardly attacks are happening to my sisters, brothers and non-gender-conforming siblings daily. I am not and should not be looked upon as an isolated incident," Smollett said.

"We will talk soon and I will address all details of this horrific incident, but I need a moment to process," he concluded. "Most importantly, during times of trauma, grief and pain, there is still a responsibility to lead with love. It’s all I know. And that can’t be kicked out of me."

Smollett performed his first show on Saturday in Southern California in front of 300 people. He told audience members that he isn’t quite healed, but is doing OK. He also clarified details of the attack.

"There's a lot of stuff that's been said about me that is absolutely not true," Smollett said before speaking out about his injuries. "I was bruised but my ribs were not cracked. They were not broken."

"I don't even care to name any names," he said. "The hateful rhetoric that gets passed around, it has to stop. But guess what, it stops with the people that believe in love."

He joked that he is the "gay Tupac" and told the audience that now is the time to be "blacker" and gayer."

Chicago police reported Tuesday that the 36-year-old Empire star—who is openly gay—had been attacked by two as-yet-unidentified men who started by "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs."

He told police that the men then beat him, "poured an unknown chemical substance," and wrapped a rope around his neck. He later told police they yelled "MAGA country" at him, a reference to President Trump’s "Make America Great Again" slogan.

He was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital but is on the mend.

When it was revealed that Smollett had received threatening letters prior to the attack, the FBI took over the investigation as a possible hate crime.

The New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl 53 last night (February 3rd) in Atlanta, winning their sixth Super Bowl to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for most titles. But this game was far from the Patriots dynasty's most exciting championship-winner, setting a record as the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever. The first three quarters of the game seemed at times to be a punting showcase, as both teams managed to score only one field goal each -- and in fact, that was all the Rams scored -- until New England finally showed enough scoring spark in the fourth quarter to take home another Lombardi Trophy. Even though quarterback Tom Brady won the MVP in four of the five Super Bowls the Pats had previously won, the MVP last night went to receiver Julian Edelman, who was the most consistent standout of the game, making 10 receptions for 141 yards.

Lackluster First to Third Quarters:

Neither team scored in the first quarter, and in a sign of what was to come in the defense-dominated game, Brady was intercepted on the first pass he threw. Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed a 46-yard field goal, and Brady was sacked for the first time this post-season. But the Patriots got on the scoreboard first, with Gostkowski making a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter, while the Rams, led by 24-year-old quarterback Jared Goff, couldn't get anything going, and Goff got hit by a couple of the four sacks he was brought down by in the game. The teams headed to the locker rooms at halftime with New England up 3-0. Los Angeles finally put up some points in the third quarter on a field goal by Greg Zuerlein, but that would turn out to be all they'd score.

Patriots Break Out in Fourth Quarter:

The fourth quarter started with the teams tied at 3-3, the first time a Super Bowl has gone into the fourth without a touchdown, and it stayed that way until the Patriots finally scored a touchdown with seven minutes left to play, with rookie Sony Michel running in a two-yard score. The TD was set up a play earlier with a 29-yard catch by Rob Gronkowski on the Rams' two-yard line, the only time either team got into the red zone. The Rams tried to get the points back, with Goff finally putting together something of a drive, but he threw an interception that was picked off by Stephon Gilmore with 4:17 left at New England's two-yard line. The Patriots added another field goal with 1:12 left to take a 10-point lead. L.A. blew their final, really long-shot chance to come back when Zuerlein missed a 48-yard field goal with five seconds left. One more whistle and a Brady kneel-down, and the Patriots were champions again.

  • Brady, at age 41, is the oldest winning Super Bowl quarterback. With his sixth Super Bowl win, Brady also passed Charles Haley to hold the record alone as the player with the most Super Bowl titles.
  • Despite the record low-scoring game, the Patriots' 10-point margin of victory was the largest of their Super Bowl wins. They also tied for the lowest points allowed in a Super Bowl with the 1972 Dallas Cowboys, who held the Miami Dolphins to three points.
  • Bill Belichick became the oldest winning Super Bowl head coach at age 66. He also has the most championships as a head coach with six.
  • MVP winner Edelman missed all of last season, including the Patriots' Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, after tearing a knee ligament in the preseason.

Priyanka Chopra’s two-ceremony wedding to Nick Jonas fascinated the world, including Ellen DeGeneres. When Chopra appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday, the host couldn’t help but rib her about not being invited to the event, which she dubbed "the royal wedding."

It all started with Chopra describing the "intimate" 200-person guest list; DeGeneres hopped in and reminded her that she was Jonas’ landlord.

"I think I had the Jonas Brothers on first, before any (of the other TV hosts), they were here really, really young," DeGeneres said. "Then, Nick lived in my condo, I was his landlord. But I guess I was cut off."

Chopra then claimed she’d invited DeGeneres, and was spurned by the host: "We were so offended that you didn’t even respond to our invite though."

"That’s not true," DeGeneres argued. "There was no invite."

"That’s so true," Chopra responded. "I was like, 'We’re not good enough for Ellen, she wouldn’t come to India. She doesn’t even respond anymore. Nick, you’ve had such a good relationship with her.' I was very offended for him, honestly. But I’m just the wife. I don’t really know anything."

"You're just the wife," DeGeneres responded, laughing, before changing the subject.

Guys, he’s a serial killer. Ted Bundy is front and center these days, thanks in part to Netflix’s Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, a docuseries about the confessed serial killer who was executed in 1989.

Interestingly, instead of focusing on the film or his murders, many on social media have been gushing about Bundy’s alleged "hotness." Netflix has noticed. The mega-streamer tweeted: "I've seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy's alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service — almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers."

When a user followed up with, "But he’s hot though," Netflix tweeted, "Where".

The lusting after criminal bad boys is not new. The fictional Netflix series You starring Penn Badgley as an obsessive, homicidal stalker, is also attracting attention for the wrong reasons. The late, great homicidal Dexter, starring Michael C. Hall, also had a fans who tuned in solely based on his hotness.

Zac Efron is playing Bundy in another film that debuted at Sundance. A survivor Bundy’s recently told TMZ that she had no problem (as some critics do) with a heartthrob like Efron portraying one of the country’s most notorious killers, "as long as they understand that what they’re watching wasn’t a normal person."

She continued: "I believe that in order to show him exactly the way he was, it’s not really glorifying him, but it’s showing him, and when they do say positive and wonderful things about him … that’s what they saw, that’s what Bundy wanted you to see."

The Chicago Police Department’s incident report said that a 30-something man was walking when two unnamed offenders approached him, yelling racist and homophobic slurs at him. Police say they began to attack him with their fists and poured an unknown chemical substance on him.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi sent a statement to ET: "Overnight, the Chicago Police Department received a report of a possible racially-charged assault and battery involving a cast member of the television show Empire. Shortly before his attack, Smollett sent out a feel-good pic on Instagram, captioning it: "#Mood after spending 7 hours on a plane for a 2 hour flight but finally landing all good. Love y’all. Goodnight #WinterVortexIsHurr #ChicagoWeatherAintNoJoke #Smile #troubadourFeb2 #Freedom."

And that’s where I’m at."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship has been the subject of intense speculation since news first broke of their romance. More recently, Meghan was credited with turning Harry onto yoga, green juice and a generally healthier lifestyle, but new reports have emerged that allegedly reveal a much more nefarious influence.

Since their royal wedding in May of 2018, the Suits alum has reportedly urged Harry to shun reporters. Duncan Larcombe, a veteran royal reporter, even tells the New York Post that she is causing some unwelcome personality changes in her new husband.

"All of Harry's staff have always thought he was fantastic, but the two of them together are high maintenance" Larcombe added, claiming that Harry has allegedly been "quite grumpy and aloof from his own inner circle of staff. Harry was always very pally with them, so this is very unlike him ... What people love about Harry is that he wears his heart on his sleeve. He's down to earth, a normal guy trapped in the royal world, and he doesn't take himself very seriously. But now he is."

Larcombe contends that Meghan’s demands may hail from her Hollywood background: "As an actress, Meghan expects perfection. But when you’re in the royal family, you have to learn that it’s not about you, it's about what you represent."

Another contender accused Meghan of using and disposing Harry’s friends after they were engaged: "In the early days, Harry's closest friends tried to help Meghan out when she was the new girl on the block, but she didn't really need them after she got the ring on her finger."

Meanwhile, it looks like Valentine’s Day will be filled with work, not play, for the pair. Harry is set to visit Exercise Clockwork, 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle in North Norway on Feb. 14, according to Kensington Palace. The pregnant Meghan will stay at home.
