MIRA SORVINO SAYS SHE IS HEARTSICK OVER ASIA ARGENTO AS ALLEGED VICTIM SPEAKS OUT

Mira Sorvino is speaking out on accusations leveled against her friend and fellow #MeToo warrior. Asia Argento has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor in 2013 and then paying him off with $380,000, allegations that first surfaced in a blistering New York Times report.

Sorvino and Argento were among the more than 80 women who spoke out against Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct, including rape, last year. Their courage in coming forward then created an entire social movement, dubbed #MeToo, and led to dozens of other revelations about an alleged culture of assault in Hollywood.

Now Sorvino is responding to news that Argento may have been a perpetrator herself.

"I have been heartsick over the recent allegations against Asia Argento. Time will clarify things and perhaps she will be exonerated, but if true, there is no lens that makes it better," Sorvino wrote in a statement posted early Wednesday morning. "Child sexual assault is a heinous crime and is against all that I and the #MeToo movement stands for."

TEXTS LEAKED

Argento formally denied that the assault occurred, saying she never had sex with Jimmy Bennett when he was a minor, or since. (He was 17 and she was 37 when the alleged attack occurred). Argento also insisted that her late boyfriend Anthony Bourdain insisted on the payout.

But texts leaked to TMZ appear to tell a different story. In a message that TMZ claims is from Argento to an unnamed friend, she admits to having sex with Bennett, but says she didn’t realize he was underage.

The text read: "I had sex with him and it felt weird. I didn’t know he was a minor until the shakedown letter. The public knows nothing, only what The New York Times wrote. Which is one-sided. The shakedown letter. The horny kid jumped me."

The website also published a selfie of them shirtless in bed.

Of the picture, the alleged text reads: "You can see my tits. That’s all. It doesn’t mean s--t. He is standing up."

ALLEGED VICTIM SPEAKS OUT

Bennett issued a statement via his attorney, Gordon K. Sattro on Wednesday.

"I did not initially speak out about my story because I chose to handle it in private with the person who wronged me. My trauma resurfaced as she came out as a victim herself," Bennett's statement read in part. "I was underage when the event took place, and I tried to seek justice in a way that made sense to me at the time because I was not ready to deal with the ramifications of my story becoming public. At the time I believed there was still a stigma to being in the situation as a male in our society."

He confirmed that, despite Argento’s denials to the contrary, they did have sex when he was a minor.

"I have had to overcome many adversities in my life, and this is another that I will deal with, in time. I would like to move past this event in my life, and today I choose to move forward, no longer in silence."

IDRIS ELBA SHUTS DOWN ‘JAMES BOND’ RUMORS

Not happening. Despite fans’ most earnest wishes to the contrary, Idris Elba will not be taking on the role of James Bond. While attending the premiere of his new film Yardie, he was repeatedly asked if he’d succeed Daniel Craig as 007.

He couldn’t have been clearer, repeatedly saying "no" and then leaving the conversation. Today also aired footage from a sit-down in which he was pressed, and Elba firmly denied it.

"I don't want to talk it about, honestly," he said during one interview. "Let's leave it."

Much of the hoopla surrounding the possibility involves the fact that Elba is black. Elba himself addressed the issue, saying if he ever earned the role, he wouldn’t want race to be the focus. "Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond," he previously told NPR. "So if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond."

Rumors of his future as Bond have been spreading for years, and were probably sparked in 2014 when he was asked during a Reddit AMA if he’d take the job if offered. Back then, he said "absolutely."

Craig will reprise the role in Bond 25, which is set to hit theaters in 2019. The director attached to the project, Danny Boyle, departed this week over "creative differences."

GEORGE CLOONEY TOPS FORBES’ LIST OF HIGHEST-PAID ACTORS

Buoyed by the sale of Casamigos Tequila, George Clooney topped Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors in 2017. Between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018, Clooney made $239 million, more money than any other actor has ever, Forbes found.

But don’t cry for everyone else in Hollywood. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson came in at No. 2, with an estimated $124 million pre-taxes. Much of that is thanks to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Robert Downey Jr. rounded out the top 3 with $81 million.

All told, the top 10 made $748.5 million between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018, before fees and taxes. The top-earning female stars earned $186 million in the same period, or just one quarter of their male cohorts' paydays.

I emerged into consciousness typing season two, many hours later. I was lucky. I had a flashback. It turned out I’d been sexually assaulted by strangers. The first people I called after the police, before my own family, were the producers." She said she wasn’t assaulted in the offices, or by a company employees; the producers funded her therapy until the shoot ended. "Overnight, I saw them morph into an anxious team of employers and employees alike; teetering back and forth between the line of knowing what normal human empathy is and not knowing what empathy is at all," she said.

After Carlson rejected her claims, former Miss America Suzette Charles told NBC’s Megyn Kelly: "She's the chairman and there's a CEO. They're required as businesspeople to raise money for the organization for the scholarship to have money to run the program and she's now putting that responsibility on our current Miss America?" CHRIS HEMSWORTH VOWS TO KEEP KIDS’ LIVES PRIVATE

Marvel leading light Chris Hemsworth graces the September cover of GQ, and inside, he talked about his commitment to family and privacy, especially in an era of constant overshare on social media.

He explained that all photos he shares of his wife Elsa Pataky and their three kids, 6-year-old daughter, India Rose, and 4-year-old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, are purely for fun, despite several lucrative offers from advertising companies.

"The exploitation is something I'm very wary of. We've been offered things like, 'Advertise such-and-such and have dinner with your family," the 35-year-old actor said. "There's no way."

Still, we live in an era of social media, so he isn’t avoiding it completely, he said. "The social media side of it is just trying to work out: How do you keep up with the times?' You see that Sylvester Stallone has an Instagram account, and you kind of go, 'This is the world we're in.'"

Hemsworth said he’s happy with the balance he’s found between work and home life. "I really do feel a sense of ease for the first time in years. I don’t mean that as an assessment of my achievements. I just mean I’m content with what’s going on and relaxed and open about it," Hemsworth shared.

Hemworth can next be seen in Bad Times at the El Royale on October 12th.

ROSE MCGOWAN SPEAKS OUT ON ASIA ARGENTO ASSAULT ACCUSATIONS

Rose McGowan says her heart is "broken" after reading that her friend and fellow Harvey Weinstein accuser Asia Argento quietly paid off her own assault accuser.

"I got to know Asia Argento ten months ago. Our commonality is the shared pain of being assaulted by Harvey Weinstein," McGowan tweeted on Monday. "My heart is broken. I will continue my work on behalf of victims everywhere."

On Sunday, the New York Times issued a bombshell report claiming Argento paid Jimmy Bennett $380,000 after he accused her of sexual assault. Bennett, who once played her son in a movie, accused her of assaulting him in a California hotel room when he was 17 and she was 37. The Times cited documents claiming Argento gave him alcohol, then pushed him on the bed, performed oral sex on him and then climbed on top to have intercourse with him.

McGowan and Argento were two of the most vocal leaders of the #MeToo movement, in addition to being some of the first of dozens of women who accused Weinstein of misconduct, including rape. McGowan, 44, and Argento, 42, have frequently supported each other on social media and in real life.

McGowan reportedly rallied to Argento’s support after her celebrity chef boyfriend Anthony Bourdain committed suicide in June, and Argento appeared on McGowan’s reality series E!'s Citizen Rose to share her story of assault.

CRIMINAL CHARGES?

Sources tell TMZ that Argento will not be charged because the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will only investigate sex crimes if the alleged victim complains. Also, Bennett is now 22, and while they may have opened an investigation into the case if he were still a minor, they have no plans to as of now.

X FACTOR

Argento, who is set to appear on X Factor Italy as a judge, will be fired if the allegations are true, producers say. Producers put out a statement that reads in part: "Sky Italia and FremantleMedia Italia have read today with great attention and in astonishment the news regarding Asia Argento published by the New York Times. … if the allegations reported by the New York Times today were to be confirmed, the issue would be absolutely inconsistent with Sky’s ethical principles and values and therefore - in full agreement with FremantleMedia - we would have no choice but to take note of it and put an end to the collaboration with Asia Argento."

Neither Argento nor Bennett have spoken out about the report yet.

Cool. So how has life in the fast lane changed for the Kylie Cosmetics mogul since welcoming Stormi February 1st?

"It's just having a different outlook on life so I can pass that on to her," she continues. "I want to be an example for her. What kind of example would I be if she said she didn't like her ears, and then I didn't like them either? I just want to teach her that. I'm trying to love myself more."

I’m a size six so I’m a little bit over the limit!"

JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS MAKES TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO ‘VEEP’

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is back! The Emmy Award-winner made a victorious return to HBO's Veep last week for the first table read, but before she filmed her first scene for season 7, she assembled the crew and thanked them for their support. (Louis-Dreyfus recently took time off to battle breast cancer and heal).

"I really appreciate everyone coming back and working it out to come back," the actress said in an Instagram video right before shooting the first take of Season 7. "I’m very grateful. Thank you very much. Love you guys Season seven!"

"Before the first shot of season 7 of @veephbo. So deeply grateful to be back together with all these superb people," she captioned the video.

Filming of season 7 was postponed in 2017 after she was diagnosed with cancer. The 57-year-old went through four rounds of chemotherapy and surgery since then.

In February, post-surgery, she wrote on Instagram, "Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery. Hey cancer, ‘F–k you!’"

RUTH WILSON SAYS SHE CAN’T SAY WHY SHE LEFT ‘THE AFFAIR’

Mum’s the word. Ruth Wilson appeared on CBS This Morning, granting her first interview since it was revealed that her character Alison Bailey had been killed in the August 5th episode of Showtime’s The Affair.

And while she said she’d asked to leave, she also noted she’s "not allowed to talk about why," prompting (of course), a flurry of speculation on the subject. When host Gayle King pressed her on whether her exit could be linked to her salary, she said: "I've never complained to Showtime about pay parity."

Interestingly, in February, she’d told Radio Times that her male cohort Dominic West "definitely gets more" money than her on the series. "Certainly when I signed up to that project, I would have got paid less," she said. "Then the producers might argue, 'Well, he's already done a major American TV show The Wire, so he's already got a level.' But even after a Golden Globe, I'm not going to be on parity. So he definitely gets more than me. I mean, I don't know what the figure is, but I'm sure he does."

Showrunner Sarah Treem told The Hollywood Reporter of her decision to leave: "That was a request, so that was decided basically before we started writing. It wasn't a discovery of any kind. That was very deliberate. And actually, we shot all of her work first. Her whole storyline was shot before we shot anything else."

Late in the day Thursday after much speculation, Showtime issued a statement, contradicting both of them and claiming the decision had been mutual. "We can’t speak for Ruth, but heading into season four everyone agreed the character’s story had run its course. Ultimately, it felt like the most powerful creative decision would be to end Alison’s arc at the moment when she had finally achieved self-empowerment," Showtime said. "The impact of her loss will be felt as the series concludes next season. We thank the many fans who embraced the character of Alison and especially thank Ruth for her indelible work over the past four seasons."

JIM CARREY OPENS UP ABOUT LEAVING HOLLYWOOD

Jim Carrey, 56, sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for a revealing chat about his disgust with Hollywood, and why he decided to return. He also shared insight into his troubled childhood.

The Dumb and Dumber star admitted that he "just didn’t want to be in the business anymore. I didn’t like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that. And maybe it’s because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet and
I really liked the control of painting — of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever."

Carrey is making a return though, via Showtime’s Kidding. But he isn’t here "in the same way," he said. "I don’t feel I’m little Jim trying to hang on to a place in the stratosphere anymore — I don’t feel like I’m trying to hold on to anything."

Recently, Carrey has made a splash with his political cartoons lambasting President Donald Trump’s administration and current affairs (from his meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong Un to the Space Force).

"I didn’t know why I was doing it initially and, as usual, a year
or two later, I wake up and realize that I’ve been given a spiritual answer through it," he commented. "I’ve been on the journey of identity,
of who am I, and that’s it. That’s the question. If there’s an ‘it’ in this world, it’s ‘Who am I?’ There is no ‘I,’ and yet it has a shape.
See what I mean?"

ON ROUGH CHILDHOOD

Carrey also talked about his painful past, revealing that his mother battled addiction for most of his childhood.

"My mom was addicted to pain medication. She was very sick in a lot of ways. She was lovely, too, but she was a child
of alcoholics and she had issues. And that’s not intentional abandonment — she was always there for me, she was always there in the house — but if you’re high on painkillers, that’s abandonment.
I guess we’re all abandoned to
a certain extent, all of us in some way or another by something
or someone, and that forms in us our belief about ourselves," the actor added.

As a result, he says he started running with a tough crowd, his grades suffered and he began to"blame the world" for his family’s issues. But things started to look up when his out of work father, mother and three siblings packed up and hit the road in a VW van.

"We lived in campgrounds
or we lived on my sister’s lawn way out in the country and, sure, it got cold in the tent, but in a weird way
it was a much happier time," the Bruce Almighty star said.

Grammer, 63, began dating Kayte Walsh, 39, while he was still married to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer. Their split was documented on the Bravo show.
