Why Half Butt Anything?

We all have spurts of laziness or get stuck in ruts but one thing AJ will never understand and putting your name next to crappy work. That just doesn’t work in his brain and it’s always his goal to smash through the ceiling no matter where he is working. He wants the pressure and wants the eyes on him.

Bad at Watering the Seeds

Is it complacency, laziness or just general not caring that leads to big gaps of conversation among people? For AJ it’s not that he doesn’t like to talk or afraid of new people, but something has always made him bad at watering the seeds with people. How does that match up with a career that you’re so open about all the time?

National Sibling Day

As the oldest of four National Sibling Day means a lot to AJ, but how has he done as a brother? Is it easier as the kids grow up and and start and continue to move away from home? Two sets of siblings and two different divorces, how have the kids dealt with that?

Them, Them, Them, What About You?

Everyone in life is going to be wronged, life is definitely about picking yourself back up, but there’s still reflection that can be done. It seems like way too little people don’t ask themselves “What did I do?” and “What can I improve on?” There are always opportunities to learn from every situation you shouldn’t let go out the door.

Finally a Breakthrough

It’s a familiar
season as Purdue fan, riding high only to fall short and have that
pit in your stomach. It felt like that when the Boilermakers lost at
Minnesota and then again to the Golden Gophers in the Big Ten
Tournament. Heck, because of tha…

My Black Book

Everyone has dark times they hope to never revisit but for AJ he keeps a reminder close by so he can never forget just how low things can get and what he can pull himself up from. Reminders of death are always around but are you ever prepared for it? Being in radio has also became a responsibility to more than just himself when it comes to helping.

The Palace History Will Repeat Itself

On my sports
bucket list is to be part of a court storming, to watch my team pull
off a huge upset and be part of that energy and emotion on the court.

Just Take the Day Off

Fresh off a whole week being sick, and really trying to grind it out, AJ wonders why we don’t follow the rules we set for ourselves. Everyone says that if you’re sick then you should go home and try not to spread it around the office but we all will be sticking it out until we can make it through. That’s also the case when it comes to the doctor, and with 30 coming up maybe that’s something he should change.

Chase the Diploma?

AJ graduated from college almost five years ago and is now getting asked about advice from his older sisters. It was up and down from him with emotional pain, school struggles and debt so would he recommend it? Any regrets?

Made Up Rat Race

In the game of the Life, and I mean the actual board game, there’s a pretty set pattern in which life unfolds. You to college, or don’t, get married, have kids and continue on with life. Off of the board game it seems like that’s the same straight line we judge each other off, but […]

How About Awards at an Awards Show?

Alicia Keys did a great job as the Grammys host and there definitely were some great performances, but am I the only one that thought an award show should have awards? Oh, and there was definitely some controversy surrounding the Grammys.

It’s Just Driving

Every time AJ travels it’s always met with a quizzical look; Why would you go there? Not visiting family? You’re going to do that over a weekend? The truth it really is easy, especially the more you do it. There’s so much to see in the world and it’s just time for those experiences. After all, it’s just driving.

Travel Abroad, Broaden My Patience

AJ traveled internationally for the first time and was anxious about what to expect going some place where he didn’t speak the language. Moving across the country relieved some of his stress when it came to the travel aspect, but what about the people and the entirely new atmosphere? Really the best thing he took with him was the right attitude. AND there’s a link for the Drop the Mic podcast on Culture Shock.

The Greatest Concert that Wasn’t a Concert

AJ doesn’t do a ton of concerts and has really never been one to get super in to them, but there was something different when twenty one pilots came to town. It took a bit to work out but it was one of the greatest concerts he has ever seen…even though it didn’t feel at all like a concert.

No Trip Down I65
