Bond 25 has a new director. Eon Productions and MGM have set Cary Joji Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation) as the director of the epic franchise, with Daniel Craig in the title role. Filming will commence in March of 2019 for a release date of February 14th, 2020.
Fukunaga is the first American director to helm the film. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli picked Fukunaga among many promising directors after Danny Boyle dropped out over creative differences.
They also cut ties with Trainspotting scribe John Hodge, whom Boyle had brought in to write, and went back to working with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, two veteran Bond writers.
"We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure," said Wilson and Broccoli.
