Cardi B Pleads Not Guilty in Strip Club Assault Case
Cardi B has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a fight at a New York strip club last August. The AP reports that the “I Like It” rapper appeared in court on Tuesday, after being indicted last week on two felony charges of attempted assault, and told the judge, “Not guilty, sir, honor.” While Cardi didn’t speak to reporters as she entered and left the courthouse, she waved at a small group of fans who shouted her name. While Cardi had originally only been charged with misdemeanors, but prosecutors presented the case to a grand jury after she rejected a plea deal. The rapper still faces misdemeanor charges of harassment, criminal solicitation, conspiracy, and reckless endangerment, for her alleged role in an incident at Angels Strip Club in Queens.
