The list of 2019 Tony Award nominees was unveiled on Tuesday, with Bryan Cranston, Elaine May, Adam Driver, Annette Bening, Jeff Daniels and Laurie Metcalf all receiving nods. The musical <i>Hadestown</i> led the way with 14 nominations, followed by <i>Ain’t Too Proud—The Life and Times of the Temptations</i> with 12 and <i>Tootsie</i> with 11. Among the more notable perceived snubs was Aaron Sorkin’s <i>To Kill a Mockingbird</i> being left off the list of Best Play nominees, although Daniels was nominated for his performance in the production.
