Brad Paisley Proves He’s Pretty Special With His Primetime Special
Brad Paisley showed off a great sense of humor and his already well-known musical chops during his “Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special” variety show on ABC Tuesday, with a little help from friends. The show, which was taped at Nashville’s War Memorial Auditorium, featured a bunch of special guests doing music, roasting the host, making jokes and generally having a good old time, CMT reports. Spots included a running coach/player schtick with Peyton Manning, and a segment where Carrie Underwood and the host went mudding’, that ended with him falling out of the truck. Later Kelsea Ballerini penned a letter to her teenage self, where she said “under no circumstances should you ever show anyone the video of you signing Jonas Brothers in your bedroom, ever. Ever.” Paisley then not only unearthed a video of a teen Ballerini doing exactly that, he quickly followed with the Jonas Brother themselves. The musicians then all performed Ballerini’s “Miss Me More,” the Jonas’ “Lovebug” and Paisely’s “She’s Everything.” In one of the funniest skits of the special, the host’s wife Kim Williams-Paisley auditioned to play the wife of Tim McGraw, and McGraw quickly ad-libbed some romantic lines. “It says the kids come home and catch us making out on the kitchen table,” McGraw jabs. “No it doesn’t say that,” responded Paisley. The special also featured appearances by Addie Pratt, Bachelor host Chris Harrison and Hootie & the Blowfish.
