Angelina Jolie is parted ways with divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, People reports. Jolie is "focused on healing her family," and hopes to find a more peaceful path on her road to divorce from Brad Pitt, sources tell the magazine.
Their split has been one of the most contentious Hollywood divorces in recent memory, with wars of words being exchanged via the tabloids. Courts have gotten involved more than once as well, with a judge recently stepping in and ruling that Pitt had to be granted more time with their six children.
"Angelina has decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley Dejean, as Samantha’s expertise is the protection and best interest of children," Mindy Nyby, a spokesperson for the 43-year-old mother of six, tells People. "Angelina appreciates Laura’s cooperation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks."
Sources tell The Blast that she was forced to team up with the San-Fran-based Dejean because no one in L.A. would take Jolie’s case when her relationship with Wasser went south.
