#MeToo champion Alyssa Milano has helped start a new hashtag-centric social movement, and celebrities are flooding social media to join her.
The movement is a response to President Donald Trump’s tweet about Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in high school. Trump’s tweet read: "I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!"
Milano tweeted in response: "Hey, @realDonaldTrump, Listen the f--k up. I was sexually assaulted twice. Once when I was a teenager. I never filed a police report and it took me 30 years to tell my parents." Milano then encouraged women to share their own stories with #WhyIDidn'tReport.
Women from all walks of life shared their stories, as did celebs like Mira Sorvino, Patricia Arquette, Corey Feldman, Daryl Hannah, Gemma Chan, Padma Lakshmi, Lili Reinhart and Ashley Judd.
