“Aladdin” Star Has Had Zero Auditions Despite Movie Earning $1 Billion
In a recent interview, the star of the recent Disney live-action remake of <i>Aladdin</i> says that he hasn’t gotten a single audition despite the film’s mammoth success, according to <i>People</i>. In a recent interview, Mena Massoud said, “I’m kind of tired of staying quiet about it. I want people to know that it’s not always dandelions and roses when you’re doing something like Aladdin.” Even though film made $1 billion dollars globally since its May release, the 28-year-old says that he hasn’t gotten a bump in his career and that he’s had to scale back his own expectations of what a film can do for it. He will be appearing in the Hulu show <i>Reprisal</i> with Abigail Breslin, but he got the role before <i>Aladdin</i>’s release. He says that he knows people only recognize him from the Disney film despite acting for 10 years, but says “I’m going to have to work at chipping away at that.” <i>Reprisal</i> hits Hulu on December 6.
