400,000+ Have Signed Petition to Remove Michael Vick as Pro Bowl Captain

As of Sunday night, more than 400,000 individuals had signed an online petition to remove Michael Vick as a Pro Bowl captain. Yardbarker reports the petition was posted by Joanna Lind on Change.org. Lind wrote, “To honor a man who had zero regard for animals is unacceptable and I would like your help to make sure he is NOT honored at the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl.” Former NFL quarterback Vick served 18 months in federal prison due to his role in a dog-fighting ring. Vick returned to the NFL following his stint in prison. He also attempted to rehabilitate his image through work with the Humane Society and on an anti-dog-fighting bill. Nevertheless, Vick is said to still be considered toxic among animal activists.
